Roasting figs in my toaster oven is one of my favorite pastimes. So when Refinery29 came round to ask for my ideal roster of holiday appetizers, I immediately started fantasizing about these.
The juicy orbs puff up and plump vibrantly, taking on astonishing degrees of sensuality. These mouth-orgasming bites deliver the creamy mellow coolness of burrata, salty prosciutto, tangy depth of balsamic, and earthy thyme—all on one blushing roasted fig.
Need I say more? They take less than 10 minutes to make!
Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 450º Slice figs in half and place face-up on baking sheet.
- Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves and a pinch or two of sea salt.
- Turn figs gently to coat with oil. Roast for 7-8 minutes.
- Remove from oven, top with a dollop of burrata, a ribbon of prosciutto, a drizzle of balsamic reduction (or vinegar), and a bit more fresh thyme and sea salt. Serve.
