Surprise! It’s pumpkin week on Kale & Caramel!!! Today we take a deep dive into the a highly unconventional use of pumpkin—its brilliance as a skin rejuvenator and antioxidant. Welcome to Pumpkin Spice: Beyond the Basic B*tch*.

*(I do not generally condone the use of this term and find it problematic in its intersectional and hegemonic connotations, but for our purposes here today, I think we can all agree that pumpkin spice comes with a certain amount of basic b*tchness.)

First up, I’m going to answer a question I know has been plaguing you for thousands of years: Yes, you can smother pumpkin pie filling all over yourself for a radiance far greater than the basic bitch glow you get from that pumpkin spice latte. We are here today, my loves, to right the autumnal wrong that’s been done to you by never using pumpkin’s antioxidant properties to get your skin as soft and supple as a baby’s booty. Or a pumpkin soufflé. Take your pick.

Pumpkin is full of Vitamins A, C, and E, and enzymes that will slough off dead skin cells and rejuvenate dull and uneven skin from head to toe. Vitamin C softens even as it fights skin damage from environmental pollution, sun, and free radicals.

Add to that the circulation stimulating and anti-inflammatory properties of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg, and you’ve got a potent mix that’ll get your blood moving almost as fast as it makes you drool. Raw coconut oil moisturizes as sugar gently exfoliates for seriously soft and sexy results.

Make this tonight, bring it into the shower with you, and come back tomorrow to tell me in comments how soft you are. Serious.

Pumpkin spice love you. Mean it.
